Ghana Philanthropy Forum supports re-launch of Effutu Development Foundation

Accra, Jan.27, GNA – Dr Ben Ocra, the President, Ghana Philanthropy Forum says the re-launch of the Effutu Development Foundation will serve as catalyst for addressing community-wide issues facing the area.

He said the Foundation would set the stage for strategic community-wide resource mobilisation and strengthen community self-help development initiatives for rapid socioeconomic growth.

Dr Ocra said this at the re-launch of the Foundation to serve as a platform for community development.

The Foundation provided a perfect avenue and framework to pursue a sustainable development for the people of the Effutu Community and would uphold the mission of the Assembly of facilitating the improvement of quality of life of the people through equitable provision of services for the development of the District.

The mission of the Municipality, Dr Ocra noted, perfectly aligned with the Foundation’s objective of mobilising community resources towards the realisation of the community’s holistic development goal.

The Foundation, he said would establish working committees to seek, promote and safeguard the common interest and welfare of all individuals, persons, and group within the Community and support education and skills development of young people.

Dr Ocra said the Forum had launched four foundations in the country, saying, “in the coming months, we will be launching the Southern Ghana, the Volta Regional Muslim Community Foundation, the Takla Community Foundation, and the Shama Traditional Council Development Foundation,” to propel development at the local levels.

Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, the Municipal Chief Executive of the Effutu Municipal Area, tasked the Foundation to advance social change and re-shape the society through multiplier  effect.

He stated the readiness of the Assembly to support the Foundation to help transform the local economy of the Municipality through the provision of quality education and economic opportunities for the youth.

The Omanhene of Effutu  Traditional Area, Neenyi Ghartey VII, called for investments in the area for rapid socio-economic development.
