Savelugu (N/R), Nov. 17, GNA – Twenty-three hearing impaired students of the Savelugu School for the Deaf are taking part in this year’s ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Madam Nora Naaso, the Headmistress of the Savelugu School for the Deaf, said the school registered 14 boys and nine girls for the examination.
She said the candidates have been given fair treatment so far, considering that they were candidates with special needs.
She indicated that the hearing-impaired candidates were given separate rooms and had an extra hour added to their finishing time and said the candidates were conveyed to and from the school daily to their examination centre in Pong Tamale, a neighbouring town.
