Accra, June 24 GNA – The Greater Accra Chapter of the Ghana Muslim Mission (GMM) has donated bundles of second-hand clothes and shoes to residents of Ketu South, who were affected by tidal waves.
The donation forms part of the Mission’s social assistance to communities.
Mr Huut Adams, the Manager of Maintenance and Security, who represented the Greater Accra Chairman of the GMM, said the donation was in line with the Mission’s principles to help communities affected by such disasters.
He said the Mission, over the years, had reached out to communities with peculiar difficulties, adding that the donation was part of the Islamic tenets to support the needy in society.
Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the Member of Parliament for Ketu South, who received the items, commended the Mission for the support.
She said she was glad that the Muslim Community in Accra heard the cry of the people of Ketu South, who were traumatized by the tidal waves, and responded favourably.
“My heart is filled with joy and pride that we still have people who have fellow-feeling, who are patriotic enough to assist those in trouble,” she said.
