Mallamkrom, (B/R), April 15, GNA – The Anane Institute has, presented educational materials to three basic schools in the Bono and Bono East Regions to facilitate academic work and improve reading among students and pupils.
The schools comprise Mallamkrom Municipal Assembly Primary School, and Anhwene Local Assembly Primary School in Wenchi Municipality of the Bono and Asueyi local Methodist Primary School in the Techiman North District of the Bono East Regions.
In all, the Institute, which promotes education and training, through supply of teaching and learning materials with support from its partners, the Michael lapsley foundation in Accra, and the Africa library Project in the United States, provided the schools with 2,100 library books.
Each of the schools received 14 boxes of reading books and other teaching materials to motivate the school children to read wide.
Mr Edward Twum Anane, the founder and President of the Anane Institute noted quality education remained the surest legacy the country could bequeath onto the younger generation hence the need to help the government to address bottlenecks that impeded quality education.
He said a concerted approach was required to facilitate a sound teaching and learning environment to promote quality education in the country, and called on the heads of the beneficiary schools and the teachers to motivate the school children to read wide and build on their mental faculty.
Madam Afia Gyamaa Ampofo, the Head Teacher of Mallamkrom M/A Primary School, thanked the donors for the gesture, and appealed for more teaching and learning materials, to facilitate academic progress in the schools.
