COVID-19: Rebecca Foundation donates beds to hospitals in Accra

Accra, Feb. 1, GNA – The Rebecca Foundation, a health-focused non-governmental organisation, founded by the First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, has donated hospital beds to three health facilities in Accra.

The beds are to enhance the capacity of the facilities to manage the intake of COVID-19 patients.

The facilities are; the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, also known as Ridge Hospital, and the 37 Military Hospital.

Madam Korkor Bleboo, Director of Communications at the Office of the First Lady, presented the beds on behalf of the First Lady, and said the Foundation was committed to continuing with its support to the health sector, especially during the COVID-19 period.

She commended health workers for their sacrifice and dedication to the fight against COVID 19, saying, “the First Lady is truly grateful to all of you and hopes this donation will support the improvement in the care of COVID 19 patients.”

Madam Bleboo reiterated the need for all to adhere to the COVID-19 safety protocols towards fighting the pandemic.

Representatives of the hospitals, who received the beds, expressed their appreciation to the First Lady and the Rebecca Foundation for the gesture and pledged commitment to the fight against the pandemic.

The Rebecca Foundation is focused on reducing maternal mortality, improving the health of children as well as providing avenues to increase the economic contribution of women.
