Akuapem-Mamfe, May 11, GNA – Nana Ansah Sasraku, the Mamfehene and Kyidomhene of Akuapem Traditional Area, and some elders have donated PPE to the community to curb the spread of the COVID-19.
The items included 1000 pieces each of face masks and hand sanitizers at a cost of GH¢ 8000.
Nana Obeng Kofi, the Dabehene of Mamfe, who presented the items to the Assemblyman, said it was to ensure that every resident in the area adhered to the precautionary measures.
He explained that the items were to be distributed to residents so that nobody would have any excuse to flout the President’s directive.
He urged the Assemblyman and opinion leaders to educate the community members on the disease and always ensure that they were strictly observing the social distancing and handwashing protocols.
The Chief reminded the people that the ban on funerals and other social gatherings were still in force and, therefore, should abide by it.
The elders who contributed to the donation included Nana Boafoa Abraku, Gyasehemea, Nana Owusua Agyemfra, Sanahemea, Nana Yaa Kwabia, Abontendomhemea, and Ankobea Amoako Mensah.
