Accra, May 26, GNA – Government has received 10 ventilators from Peewood Limited and Tema Bonded Terminal as their contribution towards managing the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
The ventilators were of the same specifications as being ordered by the Ministry of Health.
The Senior Minister, Mr Yaw Osafo-Maafo, received the machines on behalf of Government during the Minister’s briefing on Tuesday, in Accra.
He reiterated government’s commitment to fighting the pandemic with the requisite human and material resources.
The beneficiary health institutions are: GPHA International Maritime Hospital, Tema, which would receive two, Tema Government Hospital to receive one, the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital – two, South Suntreso Government Hospital – one, and Sunyani Regional Hospital – one.
The rest are Ho Teaching Hospital – one, Oda Government Hospital – one, and Yilo Krobo Municipal Health Directorate – one.
A Ventilator is placed on a COVID-19 patient with severe condition to provide oxygen.
