Accra, April 15, GNA – The two Nigeriens who tested positive for COVID-19 and were transferred to the National Treatment Centre (NTC) from a Police holding facility at the Accra District Police have been taken back to the Police.
The move had become necessary to enable health officials manage them, a statement from the Police said, after the two refused to submit to treatment at the NTC, making their management difficult.
Government officials are liaising with the Ambassador of Niger on the management of the two cases, the statement said.
“No Police Officer has or will come into contact with the two, however, every necessary step is being taken by police medical team to safeguard Police Officers and our facility,” it added.
The statement reminded the public to continue to cooperate with the Police and security services to help curb the spread of COVID-19.
It urged all to stay home and stay safe, as the security kept the frontline.
