Aflao (VR), April 29, GNA – The Ketu South Municipal Assembly will from Monday, May 04, enforce the directive on compulsory wearing of nose masks to all public places in the Municipality to check the spread of COVID-19.
The directive to all staff, public officers and clients of the Assembly as well as commercial drivers and their passengers, food vendors and all residents transacting business with the public to wear nose masks, is a further directive from the Volta Regional Coordinating Council in line with precautionary measures from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to contain the spread of the disease.
Mr Elliot Edem Agbenorwu, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ketu South disclosed this when he cut the sod for the construction of phase one of a 10-lockable store project at Aflao Market and Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Akame.
He urged traders to take the directive seriously to protect themselves and their families from the virus.
The MCE spoke to the people who included the Paramount Queen of Aflao, leaders of Yoruba community at Aflao and traders on the use of nose masks, alcohol-based hand sanitisers, hand washing and physical and social distancing, saying, the measures would help defeat the disease and return the Municipality and the country to normalcy.
He said it was important that residents took steps to comply with the directive not to have problems with enforcement officers.
