Ho April 15, GNA – Mr Benjamin Komla Kpodo, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ho Central in the Volta Region, has challenged community associations and unions to help in the fight against the novel coronavirus.
“I implore all the Community/Town Development/Youth Associations and Unions in the Constituency to support their home communities with supplies of PPEs to assist in the fight against the Coronavirus (COVID-19),” he said.
The MP also urged them and philanthropic individuals to demonstrate “Christ-like” love by extending helping hand to people, especially the poor and vulnerable during the difficult time of COVID-19.
Mr Kpodo who said this in his Easter message indicated that the resurrection of Christ gave mankind hope to overcome challenges that might entangle him.
He encouraged the citizenry to strictly adhere to the directives given by the Government and health authorities to protect themselves from contracting the virus.
He asked Christians to “cling to the old rugged cross in this difficult time of the novel coronavirus so that the resurrection power of Christ will vanquish the destructive power of the pandemic and set them free.”
“Jesus Christ has risen from the dead to demonstrate and confirm His power over death and all evil. That victory and its effects we believers in Him can appropriate to ourselves,” Mr Kpodo added.
The MP said it was out of great love for man that Christ laid down His life on the cross to cleanse him from sins and granted him salvation, thus the need for man to show love to his fellow man.
