Accra, April 20, GNA – Gulf Energy Limited and CareWorld Global have donated medical equipment and assorted disinfectants to the 37 Military Hospital and the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) COVID-19 Treatment Centre to aid in the fight against the disease.
The items included 500 Personal Protective Equipment, 516 disposable bedsheets, 50 each of Canula S14 and S18s; 55 Video Laryngoscopes; and 28 Dissecting Forceps.
Others were 21 Bedsteads, 12 Bedside Desks, and unspecified number of Carrier Stretchers, Examination Bed, Wheel Chairs, Food Trolleys, Suction Machines and Gaskets, Nebulizers and disinfectants.
This was in a statement issued by the Ghana Armed Forces Public Relations Directorate and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra on Monday.
Presenting the items on behalf of the Gulf Energy Limited, Mr Richard Atikpo, the Board Chair, said it was important to support the work of government in dealing with the threat posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said the Group had since April 10 taken up the additional responsibility of providing daily meals for some medical personnel on duty.
Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital and GAF, Brigadier General E. C. Saka, the Director General of Medical Services of the GAF, and Brigadier General N. A. Obodai, Commander, 37 Military Hospital, expressed appreciation to the Group for the huge support.
They said the items would go a long way to aid the facilities perform their roles to the optimum.
They, therefore, appealed to the private sector, organisations and individuals for support to complement the efforts of the Government and the GAF.
