Akwadiaso Ccompany Limited supports fight against COVID-19

Wassa Akropong (W/R), April 15, GNA – Akwadiaso Timber Company Limited, manufacturers of Timber and Export in Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worth hundreds of cedis to Wassa Amenfi Traditional Council to fight the spread of the ÇOVID-19.

The items include; three Veronica buckets, 70 pieces of liquid soap, 70 pieces of tissue papers, three boxes of hand sanitizers and a box of disposable gloves.

Mr Issifu Issaka, the Public Relations Affairs Director of the company who presented the items on behalf of the company said the donation was within the company’s social responsibility and commitment to improve on the health needs of the people and also protect them against COVID-19.

He assured the people that the Company was willing to help fight against the virus and advised Ghanaians to comply with the measures and directives of the government and the Ghana Health Service.

He appealed to other cooperate bodies to also support the government to protect the citizenry to help reduce the spread of the disease.

“This is not the first time and as a corporate institution, we have made several donations to other organizations, so at this crucial time we believe that the effort the government is putting in place is not enough and as a corporate institution, we must also support that effort with PPE”, he added.

Receiving the items, Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II, the Omanhenen of Wassa Amenfi Traditional Council, thanked the Managing Director of the company, Mr. Francis Manu for being on board to help the traditional council to fight against COVID-19 and promised the items would be used appropriately.

He stressed that if people complied with the national protocols of social distancing, staying at home, washing hands with soap under running water and the use of sanitizers, it would be difficult for COVID-19 to spread.

He said the council was doing all it could to protect residents against COVID-19, but that it would be achievable if only people adhered to the preventive measures.
