Government asked to Implement one-time NHIS premium

rnAccra , May 31, GNA – Mr Kwaku Agyemang Boateng, Member of Parliament for Berekum, has called on Government to redeem its promise of implementing  a one-time premium payment of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), to engender confidence in politicians.        rnHe said Government must take drastic step to implement policies it has promised.     rnMr Boateng gave the advice when he donated an ultra-modern, all-purpose ambulance to the Jinjini Health post in the Berekum constituency.          rnHe said that in the run up to the 2008 General Election, the National Democratic Congress made a lot of promises that enabled them to win that contest, but after almost four years in power, no legislation had been put up by Government to back the one-time premium policy on the NHIS.      rnMr Boateng  said  the ambulance would facilitate health delivery in the area, and called on all Ghanaians to register for the NHIS to enable them to benefit from the policy.     rnHe said: “The next NPP Government will make the policy even better to improve the quality of life for Ghanaians”.rn rn rnGNA
