Accra, Jan. 8, GNA – The African Centre for International Affairs (AfriCIA) has congratulated President John Dramani Mahama on his election as President in the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
The Centre said, “This remarkable victory is not only a testament to your enduring leadership and vision but also a reflection of Ghana’s unwavering commitment to democratic principles and good governance.”
A statement issued in Accra by Joseph Boateng, the Executive Director, AfriCIA said the Centre highly acknowledged the victory of the first ever-female Vice President of Ghana, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang.
It said as an organization dedicated to advancing diplomatic excellence and fostering sustainable global governance in Africa, AfriCIA celebrated Ghana’s continued role as a beacon of democracy on the continent.
“Your election reaffirms the nation’s democratic credentials and inspires hope for a future marked by unity, justice, and progress,” it added.
The statement said, “We extend our best wishes for your administration’s success in upholding the values of justice, transparency, and accountability.”
It said the Centre trusted that their leadership would further reinforce Ghana’s commitment to peace, security, and sustainable development within the African continent.
Moreover, “we are confident that your policies will strengthen public trust in the democratic institutions that form the foundation of Ghana’s remarkable political heritage.”
AfriCIA looks forward to Ghana’s continued leadership in fostering regional cooperation through ECOWAS and the African Union (AU).
It expressed the hope that the government would advance the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), address pressing issues such as counterterrorism, promote human rights protection, and contribute to lasting peace and security in the ECOWAS region.
