Minority Leader praises achievements of NDC Caucus in eighth Parliament

Accra, Jan 06, GNA – Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, the Minority Leader in the eighth parliament has commended the Minority Caucus for meeting the expectations of the Ghanaian people despite facing numerous challenges.

He also acknowledged the difficulties in preventing the executive from taking detrimental actions but emphasised the Caucus’s commitment to doing what was right for the nation.

Dr Forson made these statements in a closing remark during the dissolution of the eighth parliament on Monday.

He said: “Mr Speaker, every chapter of this journey has been marked by its own twists and turns, highs and lows, in the end, the NDC minority delivered and lived up to the expectations of the people.”

Dr. Forson, also the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam, addressing Parliament highlighted the historic composition of the 8th Parliament, with an equal number of seats held by each major political party and a record number of female members.

He expressed gratitude to the current Speaker for his exemplary leadership and paid tribute to past leaders, including former Majority and Minority Leaders.

Dr. Forson concluded by emphasising the importance of hard work, dedication, and true love in earning the people’s trust and support.

“Mr Speaker, with the NDC poised to reenter the chamber with an unprecedented majority, the NDC look forward to the party’s future endeavors,” he said.

Dr. Forson therefore called for collaboration and criticising government policies while offering alternative proposals.
