Mr Patrick Kwasi Brenya, Manager of the facility, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after the exercise that the essence of the clean up exercise was to tidy up the community in order to help prevent the out break of communicable diseases in the area.
According to him, it was a routine exercise done within the facility and its neighborhood but annually extended to larger parts of the community.
Mr Brenya used the opportunity to appeal to other hospitality industry players to do their part in helping to clean the environment.
He also asked residents to take a cue from the number of cholera reported cases in the Western region and keep their surroundings clean in order not to have such cases in the area.
He hinted that the facility would engage other institutions to make the clean up exercise a monthly event, hopefully next year.
