Nkroful ( W/R), Dec. 15, GNA – Mr Joseph Kwaw Blay, the Headmaster of the Nkroful Agricultural Senior High School (NASS), has appealed to Ambassadors of the school to make individual contributions towards the refurbishment of an old Assembly Hall which is now an extension of the school’s dining hall.

According to him, the increase in students population of about 2,000 had put pressure on the existing dining hall, which prompted management to use the old Assembly Hall as an additional one.

However, the place was in a dilapidated state which needed urgent attention from all stakeholders, including NASS Ambassadors, he added.

He was speaking to a cross-section of NASS Ambassadors when they called on him at his office in Nkroful in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region.

Mr Blay said though the school was struggling with many challenges, the most pressing need was to put the dining hall in good shape to provide a safe and hygienic eating space for the students.

The Headmaster said they needed about GHC23,300.00 for refurbishment, and called on past students to assist the school in that regard.

He said that management was doing everything to improve the infrastructural situation in the school, saying they had written letters to organizations and corporate bodies such as ADAMUS Mines, Ghana Gas, and Tullow Oil, among others for assistance.

“Luckily enough, Ghana Gas responded and renovated the Boys’ Dormitory and Adamus also came to our aid by renovating the Administration block,” Mr Blay said.

Mr Shaibu Issaka, Leader of NASS Ambassadors, gave the assurance that the Headmaster’s appeal would be taken in good faith by all past students to contribute generously towards the refurbishment of the dinning hall to a modern standard.

Mr Issaka, who is also the District Director of the Complementary Education for Ellembelle, said the government alone could not do all and appealed to old students to turn their attention to the needs of the school.
