Accra, Dec 8, GNA – Mr Sylvester Tetteh, Deputy Minister of Information and the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro Constituency has failed to retain his parliamentary seat.

The one term MP lost to Mr Felix Akwetey Okle of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr Tetteh secured 27,888 votes, while Okle had 37,473 votes and Frank Mensah, an independent candidate, 347 votes.

An Official of the Electoral Commission (EC) declared Mr Okle as winner for the

parliamentary election after collation of results at the Christian Methodist Senior High School.

“By the power vested in me by the EC, I declare Mr Felix Akwetey Okle as winner for the parliamentary election,” said Mr Samuel K. Mingle, the EC’s Returning Officer.

In an interview, the MP-elect attributed his victory to humility.

“The secret is simple, humility. You have to be there for them, and they will be there for you. And I have promised I will be there for them,” he said.

He expressed gratitude to the constituents for believing in him and voting for him to represent the constituency in Parliament.
