Accra, Dec. 08, GNA – The United States has extended congratulations to Ghanaians on the successful conduct of the 2024 General Election, which it says reflects the will of the people.
In a statement issued by the U.S. Embassy in Accra, the Government expressed commitment to strengthening its partnership with Ghana under the leadership of President-elect John Dramani Mahama.
The statement commended all candidates who participated in the election for their dedication to Ghana’s democratic processes and their commitment to peace.
Special recognition was given to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his statesmanlike concession speech, which underscored the principles of democracy and the peaceful transfer of power.
“We stand with the people of Ghana and their belief in the power of the people, and that #DemocracyDelivers,” the statement noted.
The statement expressed support for Ghana’s democratic journey, applauding the nation for its role as a beacon of democracy in Africa.
