Wa, Dec. 07, GNA – Voting on this year’s presidential and parliamentary elections began ed smoothly in the Wa Central Constituency, with few voters seen forming queues to cast the votes.

At the Labour office Polling Station, 26 voters had cast their votes out of the total registered voter population of 698.

The Presiding Officer, Mr. Abdul-Raheem told the GNA that the station had not encountered any challenges on the verification machines or materials meant for the voting.

Agents representing NPP and NDC also affirmed that.

Also, at the New Regional Post Office 2 Polling Station of the 412 registered voters, 57 had voted, while 36 had cast their votes out of 501 registered voters’ population at New Regional Office Polling Station 1. as at 8.25 am and 0820 hours respectively.

The low turnout could be attributed to the harmattan winds associated with early dawn cold, which might have kept voters indoors.

Meanwhile, long and mini- bus were seen transporting voters to other constituencies within and beyond the region to cast votes.
