Accra, Dec. 07, GNA – Mr Justin Kodua Frimpong, the General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), says the Party’s monitoring of over 40,000 polling stations nationwide witnessed a low voter turnout between 60-65 per cent.
He, however, urged the Party’s polling agents to be vigilant at the polling stations and collation centres as the election was entering a critical stage of counting of ballots.
Mr Koduah said this during a news briefing in Accra at the Bawumia Campaign Communication Office in Accra on Saturday.
He also entreated the security agencies and the officials of the Electoral Commission to be professional during the sorting and counting of ballot papers.
Mr Koduah commended the Party’s polling agents for the work done so far and urged them to provide accurate information on the results.
“I must admit that the turnout across the 16 regions is very low.
“On average, the turnout is between 60 to 65%. So at this time around I want to assure our teeming supporters that the NPP is winning this election. What is left is for our agents to be vigilant at this crucial stage,” he said.
“Let us continue to be vigilant. Let us not sleep. Let us make sure that the accurate votes are what are going to be counted,” he urged.
