Nalerigu (N/E), Dec. 07, GNA – Some voters at the Nalerigu Constituency have pledged unflinching support to the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) Alhaji Seidu Baba Issifu.
The voters cheered the MP up as he picked a ballot from electoral officers at the Namongo polling station in the Nalerigu township, to exercise his franchise.
He expressed appreciation to the cheering crowd by waving back to them.
Some of the voters who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said they were determined to retain the MP, but would choose Dr Bawumia in the Presidential voting, indicating a practice of “skirt and blouse”.
Mr Alhassan Inusah, a Teacher, said “I will vote for Bawumia for President and vote Alhaji Issifu for the Parliamentary. That is the plan of most voters in this constituency”.
Hajia Vida Elham Issifu, the wife of the MP, expressed confidence in her husband’s ability to win the seat again following his good works and the helping hands he lent to his constituents.
Voters are seen in queues with enthusiastic feelings as they chat and pat staying calm for their turn.
