General Election 2024: Voting underway in Shai-Osudoku

Accra, Dec. 7, GNA – Voting is ongoing in the Shai-Osudoku Constituency in the Greater Accra Region.

The Ghana News Agency (GNA) after visiting some13 polling stations in the Constituency, gathered that voting started on time except for a few polling stations.

At exactly 0715 hours, Post Office Dwamomo ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ polling stations were getting ready for voting to start.

Also, at the Ghana Highway Authority Yard ‘A’ and ‘B’ polling stations, there were 23 voters in a queue awaiting arrival of materials at 0700 hours.

Mr Adolfo Prince-Ernest, Presiding Officer at Presby Primary School Manyayiti ‘A’ polling station, said he and his team were at the venue to arrange tables and chairs by 0500 hours but could not access the place because it was under lock.

“We started voting at 0734 hours and the process is ongoing smoothly. We have 654 registered voters. We had a little problem with our BVD machine. The code was not matching but we found the correct code,” he said.

The Shai-Osudoku Constituency has 71, 951 registered voters with 146 polling stations, including the special voters.

For the parliamentary election, Mr Benjamin Nargeh, is representing the NPP; Madam Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, the incumbent MP, is representing the NDC; Mr Minimadey Isaac Gabriel Angmortey, is representing the PPP; Madam Gifty Hawa Hammond and Mr Emmanuel Tetteh Wilson are standing as independent candidates.
