Hohoe (V/R), Dec. 7, GNA – Queues at some polling centres in the Hohoe Constituency are building up ahead of the 2024 general elections nationwide.
Officers of the Electoral Commission (EC) at centres visited by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) were setting up the centres for the exercise.
Three voting centres are at the Hohoe E.P Senior High School, Hohoe Adabraka English Arabic School, Ahlissunna Mosque, the Reverend Seeger E.P Church and School as well the Volta Cinema Palace.
These centres visited between the hours of 0550 and 0625 hours have more than 20 prospective voters in queue.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Kofi Blagodzi, Volta North Regional Commander, visited the Electoral Commission office at Hohoe, where the dispatch of election materials were ongoing.
DCOP Blagodzi arriving at the office at 0527 hours, urged the security personnel to “go all out there” and serve the country since the citizenry had confidence in them.
GNA observed that the Command has created a centre to handle security related issues.
The Hohoe Constituency Electoral office began dispatching election materials to polling centres including Wli Todzi.
The Ghana News Agency has observed the exercise as at 0318 hours with police presence.
