Nkroful (W/R), Dec 06, GNA – Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle, has reiterated the next National Democratic Congress (NDC) government’s intentions to review and continue certain aspects of the Free Senior High School policy.

He said while the NDC government started the Progressive Free Senior High School policy, the government needed to streamline it to do away with the challenges associated with the implementation.

Mr Kofi Buah therefore, dismissed assertions from certain quarters that the NDC government would cancel the Free Senior High School policy.

Mr Kofi Buah said this when he commissioned a water storage facility for the Nkroful Agricultural Senior High school.

The gesture followed an earlier appeal to the MP when he visited the school a few months ago.

The MP who is an old student at the school, said the NDC government committed itself to building educational infrastructure as part of the Free Senior High School policy before it left power in 2016.

Mr Kofi Buah admitted that in spite of the Free SHS policy, parents were burdened with paying huge sums of money to purchase a number of items on the prospectus before their children enrolled in schools.

He said the NDC government would ensure that secondary education was quality to prepare the middle level workforce for the country.

Mr Kofi Buah admonished the students to study harder and be rest assured that the next NDC government would provide the needed resources to boost quality education delivery in the country.

Mr Kofi Buah reiterated that work on the six-unit classroom block had started to expand the infrastructural base of the school to make the school a single track.

The principal of the school, Mr Joseph Kwaw Blay thanked the MP for fulfilling his pledge to donate the biggest brand new polytank to the school.

He also thanked Mr Kofi Buah for the numerous projects he had embarked upon in the school.
