Dzodze (V/R), Dec. 2, GNA – At the close of special voting in the Ketu North Constituency, 633 out of 702 registered special voters successfully cast their ballots, representing a turnout of 90.2 per cent.
The exercise, which begun nationwide at 0700 hours, ended smoothly at 1700 hours.
The special voting allowed personnel from the security services, media, and Electoral Commission staff to vote ahead of the December 7 general election.
Mr Prince Agbemenya, the Presiding Officer, described the voting process as smooth and successful.
“The high turnout is encouraging and suggests that the upcoming general election will see strong participation,” he noted, saying it was an improvement compared to previous special voting exercises.
Of the 633 voters, 629 were verified through the biometric verification machine, while four underwent facial verification, highlighting the efficiency and reliability of the system.
Party agents present expressed satisfaction with the voting process, praising its transparency and smooth execution.
The successful conduct of the special voting exercise in Ketu North reflects the readiness of the Electoral Commission and the participating parties for the December 7 elections.
With a turnout exceeding 90 per cent, the special voting process has set a positive tone for the general election, reinforcing confidence in the electoral process.
