Ho (V/R), Dec. 1, GNA – A total of 8,471 voters in the Volta Region are gearing up to cast their ballots in the special voting exercise scheduled for Monday, December 02.
These voters, comprising security personnel, media personnel, and election officials, will be exercising their franchise ahead of the general elections on December 07.
The special voting exercise will take place at twenty-two designated centres across the Volta Region, with each constituency having at least one voting centre.
The exception is Ho, which will have three voting centres, Hohoe and Ketu South, which will have two centres each.
Mr Eric Dzakpasu, the Volta Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, disclosed to the Ghana News Agency that the special voting exercise is designed to enable those who will be on duty on December 7 to cast their ballots.
He gave the assurance that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth and peaceful exercise from 0700 hours to 1700 hours.
“The ballots cast during the special voting exercise will not be counted immediately. Instead, they will be kept in sealed boxes and stored with the Police until the general elections on December 7, when they will be counted along with the rest of the ballots,” Mr Dzakpasu explained.
