Takoradi, Nov. 20, GNA – The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly has launched the Twin-City Connect project to ensure that clients have easy connectivity and services in one click of a button.
The platform which is Web-based featured service request and payment, access to information, data dashboard and citizen feedback interface.
Mr Isaac Aidoo, the Manager of the Twin-Cities in Sustainable Partnership Project TCSPP, sponsors of the platform said the project within three years had established demonstration farms, skills training centre, youth friendly centres to improve upon the lives of the city dwellers.
He noted that the latest addition of the platform would help stakeholders to better relate.
Mr Aziz Mahmoud, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer on the Project said the App was born out of consultative engagement with key stakeholders to ensure efficiency in service delivery of the Assembly.
Mr Abdul-Mumin Issah, the Chief Executive of Assembly who launched the App said the web-based application was a bold step towards innovation, efficiency, and greater citizen engagement in the local governance of Sekondi-Takoradi.
“In a world driven by technology, cities must adapt to meet the changing needs of their people.
This platform is our response to the call to improve the link between our administration and the residents of Sekondi-Takoradi, making services accessible, transparent, and seamless”.
The Twin Cities Connect offers the opportunity to apply for permits, pay rates, or seek information, the application simplifies processes that once required time-consuming visits to offices at the Metro assembly.
The MCE expressed gratitude to the EU and partners of Twin-Cities in Sustainable Partnership Project, the stakeholders who participated in the co-design process, the consultant for the project, the staff of STMA and the Project Team who worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life.
Mr Innocent Haligah, the City Manager, said the head of department had a responsibility to ensure prompt responses to clients.
He urged them to own the platform and effectively use it to improve upon the fortunes of the Assembly.
