2024 Avenor Tutudoza commences with cleanup exercise

Akatsi (VR), Nov. 15, GNA – Residents and people of Avenor in the Avenor Traditional Area in the Volta Region have commenced activities to mark the fifth celebration ‘Avenor Tutudoza.’

Themed “Fostering Peace and Unity for Sustainable Development in Avenor,” the festival would record some activities such as a musical concert, a Pilgrimage to Datsutagba, and others.

Earlier on Thursday, November 14, Torgbui Tali Gafatsi lll, the Chairman of the Festival’s Central Planning Committee disclosed to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that, reconciliation and some special rites have been performed to kickstart the celebrations.

He said the need to adhere to all directives regarding social gatherings and noise-making must be enforced.

“Today’s rites will offer us God’s blessings to have successful events in togetherness.”

He stated that other activities to mark the festival included general clean-up exercises, health walk, pilgrimage to ‘Datsutagba,’ and Mama Nutifafa Avenor beauty pageant.

The rest included Artists’ Night and Musical Concert, street jams, paying homage to the Paramount Chief, and thanksgiving church service.

Avenor Tutudoza is celebrated by the Chiefs and people of Avenor, serving as an invitation to all sons and daughters of Avenor, as well as no-indigenes, to visit and witness the community’s vibrancy, and support all efforts in building a better Traditional Area.

The festival is also expected to be climaxed by a grand durbar on Saturday, November 23 at the Akatsi Central Market lorry station, where several dignitaries including, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Alan Kyremanten, and others are expected to grace the occasion.
