Ashaiman, Oct. 17, GNA- A bicycle rider fled a crash scene at Ashaiman Middle East on Thursday afternoon after recklessly crossing the path of a taxi, leading to it crashing into a parked trailer.

The taxi driver sustained a head injury, while a female passenger who suffered injuries on her head and knee was rescued from the vehicle by bystanders.

The incident occurred when the cyclist attempted to cross the road, nearly colliding with the taxi. To avoid the cyclist, the taxi driver swerved and crashed into the stationary trailer.

The passenger victim told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at the scene that she hired a taxi from the Ashaiman main market to transport cooking utensils to a customer at the Ashaiman Timber Market.

Despite their injuries, both the driver and passenger expressed more concern about the damaged vehicle and their work, showing reluctance to seek immediate medical attention.

The trailer driver, who arrived at the scene later, stated that even though he had parked on the shoulders of the road, he could not be accused of having caused the crash.
