Accra, Oct. 15, GNA – In an energized display of support, the youth of the La Dade-Kotopon constituency took to the streets of Labadi to campaign for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to come to power come December 7.

Spotted in branded NDC T-shirts, the youth displayed placards and banners of Madam Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, Member of Parliament (MP) for the area while engaging drivers and pedestrians on the road to campaign for the party.

The youth who campaigned passionately on the Accra-Tema beach road shared messages of the NDC manifesto and urged the electorate to trust former President Mahama’s leadership in addressing challenges faced by Ghanaians and key issues in the constituency by the MP.

One of the campaigners who spoke to the Ghana News Agency on anonymity said they believed that the NDC under the leadership of former President Mahama had the experience to reset the economy to bring relief to Ghanaians hence his involvement in the campaign.

“We the youth of La believe that we need a change to set Ghana free from the worse economic conditions the NPP government has brought to Ghanaians in the last eight years” he said.

This year’s political campaign has shifted towards personal interactions at home and workplaces to secure votes, unlike the previous years where large rallies dominated the political activities.

As the December elections approached, the NDC  youth continued to employ a mix of grassroots strategies, from door-to-door engagement to these street campaigns, to sway undecided voters.
