Huge blow for Ghana as Partey, Paintsil and others pull out of Sudan double-header

Accra, Oct. 8, GNA – The Black Stars of Ghana will be without captain Thomas Partey, who has withdrawn from the Sudan double-header due to medical reasons. 

According to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the Arsenal midfielder, who played against Southampton over the weekend, would have a medical examination in the coming days. 
 
In addition, Joseph Painstil, who missed the2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Niger due to paper works, has withdrawn from the most recent team owing to a hamstring issue. 
 
According to reports, the player injured his hamstring in the LA Galaxy’s most recent game and has undergone an MRI. 

Ibrahim Osman’s club Feyenoord have communicated to the GFA that their player would not be available, while Kingsley Schindler is receiving treatment for a medical emergency. 

However, Black Stars coach Otto Addo has called up Michael Baidoo, Abu Francis, Jonas Adjetey, and Ibrahim Sadick to replace the injured players. 

The Black Stars are set to face Sudan on Thursday, October 1, 2024 at the Accra Sports Stadium with the reverse fixture set for Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
