Ho (VR) Oct. 23, GNA – Ms Tilda Elinam Acorlor, a staff of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation in the Volta region has been elected to the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) as an Executive Committee member.
Miss Acorlor, a sports broadcaster, speaker, and media personality, was a three-time award winner of the GJA-Volta Chapter award in the sports category since its inception in 2017 with back-to-back wins.
Miss Acorlor, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency after the elections, expressed excitement over her new position and thanked the electorate for giving her the nod to be part of the SWAG Committee.
“Thank you for your confidence expressed in me, I do not take it for granted, it is very big in my eyes and l am humbly grateful.
“In the world where every individual’s voice matters, the delegates showed love through votes as a sign of believe in my ability to impact.”
Miss Acorlor is an industrious woman, who runs and operates a service agency named “Awo Kotoka” which deals in events in sports and mentorship and has also introduced the Night Street Soccer League in the Ho Municipality.
She is a sports journalist, who remained passionate about the success of young people, especially women and girls.
“I want to be remembered as a human being who has impacted so many lives with a large and compassionate heart,” she said.
Other elected members, include Mr Kwabena Yeboah, the SWAG President, Evelyn Nsiah Asare, the Vice President, Charles Osei Asibey, the General Secretary, and Kenneth Obeng Adade the Vice General Secretary.
Owuraku Nsia and Mavis Amanor were elected as Treasurer and Women’s Commissioner respectively, with Franklin Anane Gyimah and Bampoe Brenya, being elected as other executive members.
They would serve the Association for the next four years.
