She noted that the award was given according to the number of customers one pull on MTN MoMo and how customers were treated with respect and satisfaction.
She advised all momo agents and merchants to also put in efforts in their businesses to improve customer service and relations.

An Eastern region based MoMo agent, Prince Boateng also walked away with a motorbike and a certificate, having been adjudged best MoMo merchant.
The annual event which recognises the contributions of MoMo agents and merchants is a way of acknowledging their support to the growth of MTN over the years.
More than 276,000 agent points and 240,000 merchants across all sixteen regions of the country are being rewarded this year by MTN Ghana with exciting prizes, including Motor Bikes, Smart TVs, Laptops, CCTV Cameras and others.
A total of 400 agents, 75 merchants and 50 mobile agents were rewarded at a colourful ceremony held at Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.
Mr Shaibu Haruna, Chief Executive Officer of Mobile Money Limited, said it was important to recognise the support of agents and merchants, who were driving the activities of MTN on the ground.
He said the MoMo business thrived on the role of agents and merchants who continued to acquire new customers for the company hence the need to reward them in appreciation of their efforts.
“We are recognizing our agents as well as our merchants and also our foot soldiers who are working hard everyday to register new customers onto our network,” he told the media.
He said the criteria for the selection was based on the number of transactions and how well mannered customers are treated in terms of services by agents and merchants.
He acknowledged that 2022 was challenging, but the agents stood the test of time in supporting the business, a reason they deserved to be rewarded.
“Today’s event is very important because of the unique challenges the industry has gone through this year. It has been a challenging year with the introduction of e-levy, the challenges our customers have had with accessing their MoMo wallets during the sim barring exercise and the challenging economic environment we find ourselves in.”
“These issues put a lot of pressure on the entire business. However, while we continue to face these challenges, we enthusiastically serve our customers with joy and pride,” he said.
“Today, we are here to say thank you to our customers and thanking them for the great work that they have done in challenging times that we find ourselves in,” he added.
The MoMo service, he noted, was important to the socio-economic development of he country and stressed the need for Ghanaians to accept it to promote financial inclusion.
“Let us look ahead, taking into consideration the increasing opportunities mobile money presents to Ghana’s socio-economic development, we have a role to play as individuals contributing towards the development of Ghana,” he added.
