Shumen, Northeastern Bulgaria, Aug 03, (BTA/GNA) – The Play with Fori educational programme has been included in the EU-SELF project Compendium of good practices in Europe in promoting social and emotional development of pre-school children. The programme was developed by Assoc. Prof. Sevjian Eubova of the Bishop Konstantin of Preslav Shumen University, the university said on its website.
EU-SELF teams six countries across Europe, each with its own experience in the field of social and emotional skills in children. The project is coordinated by New Bulgarian University and the compendium is compiled under the editorial guidance of the Erasmus Brussels University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Brussels. Eubova worked on the project in cooperation with the Hungarian Galileo Progetti Nonprofit, a kindergarten in Bulgaria, the Maieutica y Centro Social de Soutelo in Portugal, the University in Tuzla and the Montessori IG Provate School in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Lund University in Sweden.
The aim of the project is to develop emotional skills in children, as well as abilities of interaction between children and parents. Such development enables application of knowledge, attitudes and skills to understand emotions, developing empathy and positive relations, as well as responsible decision-making.
The programme is aimed at pre-school children, with one class a week continuing from 15 minutes to 20-25, depending on the age group.
