Kadjebi GES asks stakeholders to own the Lively Minds programme

Kadjebi (O/R), July 23, GNA-Mr. Anthony Dugbley, the Kadjebi District Training Officer, Ghana Education Service (GES), has asked stakeholders in education to help implement the Lively Minds programme in the district and make it a success.

He said Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and School Management Committee (SMC) members must be up and doing in education delivery so that Kadjebi District could take its proper place on the league table.

Mr Dugbley was addressing a training workshop organised for PTA, SMC and 67 Headteachers at Kadjebi in the Oti Region to sensitise them on the implementation of the Lively Minds programme in the district and their roles in making the project a success.

The Training Officer said Lively Minds in collaboration with GES would support schools in the district to upgrade the knowledge of both teachers and community members to handle Kindergartens more proactively.

He said three Districts, namely Kadjebi, Krachi-Nchumuru and Nkwanta-North Districts in the Oti Region, were benefiting from the project.

Mr Wilson Agbanyo, the Kadjebi District Chief Executive, called on the participants to take the training seriously as education was a topmost priority.

He said the Assembly had already distributed 750 dual/mono desks to schools in the district and that 500 more would be supplied in August 2022 to help solve the furniture deficit.

He said the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results in the district had not been the best, so they should help collectively to improve it.

The Ghana Education Service officially adopted a programme to improve early childhood development called the Lively Minds Programme.

The first stage of the programme was launched in September 2020 and that involved a Radio programme called Lively Minds Together for parents.

The programme is being implemented across Bono East, Bono, Oti, Savannah, North East, Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions.
