Yeji (BE/R), July 09, GNA-Alhaji Adams Abdulaih, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Pru East has urged Moslems and the public to celebrate the Eid-ul-Adha festival of sacrifice with maximum security caution and adherence to preventive protocols against diseases.
Alhaji Abdulaih gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Yeji, the Pru East capital in the Bono East Region, saying the country was not in normal times because of terrorist attacks in neighbouring countries and recent pandemic of COVID-19 and outbreak of Monkey Pox.
He reminded Ghanaians about the “See Something, Say Something” National Security initiative, and urged everyone to help security agencies to track and arrest suspicious characters.
That, he said would prevent penetration of terrorists into the country.
Alhaji Abdulaih said being security conscious must not end during the Eid-UL-Adha festival but from this time on as a measure to keep the communities safe to boost socio-economic development.
He described the youth as “the driving force for peace”, saying the Muslim youth particularly must focus on creating a peace-loving environment to ensure a successful Eid-Ul-Adha celebration and beyond for continuous Allah’s blessing on the country.
Alhaji Abdulaih advised the youth to be vigilant and place the interest of their communities first to track and foil any attempt by miscreants who would want to foment trouble to create chaos and impede the progress of the country.
