Accra, July 6, GNA – The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) says it has not contracted any institution or individuals to advertise recruitment and enlistment processes on its behalf through social media.
It has, therefore, advised interested applicants to comply with the laid down processes as advertised in the Ghanaian Times and Daily Graphic not to fall prey to fraudsters.
A statement signed by the Director of Public Relations, GAF, Naval Captain Michael Addo Larbi, said the GAF and other security agencies had stepped up efforts to trace and apprehend those fraudsters for prosecution and called for support from all.
The GAF named two fraudulent Facebook accounts it had monitored for a period of time – one created with the name Asinyo Inno, advertising sale of “protocol recruitment forms” to interested applicants, and another bearing the name Mathias Sarpong, with the contact number +233595577684 being used for recruitment scams.
It urged interested applicants and the public to report such individuals, their intermediaries or agents demanding payment to assist in their arrests, or report to the nearest military installations or police stations.
It said GAF recently published the 2022 enlistment in only two national dailies: the 14th May, 2022, edition of the Ghanaian Times and the 16th May 2022, edition of the Daily Graphic.
The statement said all relevant information and guidelines in respect of the eligibility criteria, sale of scratch cards at designated Ghana Post offices across the country and the closure of the online application process on Sunday 10 July 2022, had all been indicated in the adverts.
