Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall artiste Sonni Balli passes on aged 40

Accra, June 9, GNA – Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall artiste, Sonni Balli, has passed on at the age of 40.

The multiple award-winning artiste who celebrated his 40th birthday on Monday, June 6, 2022, passed away on Thursday.

Born Sonny Kwabena Amoako Akoanor, the musician gained traction in the mid-2000s with his unique style of music, thus combining Jamaican vibes with Hip Life music.

Sonni Balli, who is a well-known songwriter, poet, and storyteller, has featured in nerve-racking tunes with the likes of Lord Kenya, Slim Buster, among others.

The late Reggae/Dancehall musician is said to have discovered the likes of Samini, Stonebwoy, Kaakie, and many others.
