NSMQ2021: Kanton SHS receives GHS5000 worth of products from Arla Foods

Accra, April 12, GNA- Arla Foods Ghana Limited has presented Dano Milk products worth GHS5000 and a plaque to Kanton Senior High School for their sterling performance at the recent National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).

The recognition, under the Dano Milk Inner Strength Award initiative, is to commend the determination and resilience of a less endowed School, which made it to at least the Absa Money Zone of the NSMQ competition.

The Absa Money Zone, which begins from the Quarter Finals stage through to the Grand Final rewards all contesting teams with a cash prize based on their score points earned in each contest.

A press release signed by Mr Wilson Agbeko, Marketing Manager, Arla Foods Ghana Limited and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday, said: “GHS5000 worth products from Arla Foods Ghana Limited is awarded Kanton Senior High (Kansec) school for their sterling performance in the competition through to the quarter-final stage.”

It lauded the School for its achievement in the NSMQ and called it the “Success Story” of the 2021 competition.

“We are happy that Kansec is receiving the Dano Milk experience; one that is tasty and nutritious to build their inner strength,” he said.

Mr Vytautas Petronis, General Manager, Arla, applauded the students and their coaches in the statement, saying: “The outstanding performance demonstrated by the students is an inspiration to all of us, I encourage them to push to a higher stage.”

The Municipal Director of Education of the Sisala East District, described the performance of KANSEC as so far, the best regional performance in the NSMQ competition, which had resulted in the winning of five national awards by the School.

He expressed appreciation to Dano for not only awarding the sterling performance of Kanton SHS but also travelling from Accra to Tumu for the presentation.

“This is unprecedented, we have never seen this before,” it added.

The Municipal Director appealed to Arla Foods to maintain the awards for the benefit of other less endowed schools and called on the Organisation and other stakeholders to support the KANSEC as it prepared for its 60th-anniversary celebration.
