Jump in revenue for Germany’s Deutsche Post DHL Group

Frankfurt, Mar. 9, (dpa/GNA) – Germany’s largest delivery and logistics firm, Deutsche Post DHL, on Wednesday posted a surge in earnings for the fiscal year 2021.

The results were driven by an increase in demand for logistic solutions, in turn, caused by a significant increase in global trade and e-commerce.

The Bonn-headquartered firm reported a net profit of €5.05 billion or €4.01 per share, compared with €2.97 billion or €2.36 per share in fiscal 2020.

Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) on the year was up €7.97 billion, from €4.84 billion the previous year.

The company said it would propose an increased dividend of €1.80 per share this year.

For fiscal 2021, the German firm generated revenue of €81.74 billion, compared with €66.71 billion the previous year.

Looking ahead the group said it expected EBIT to be at €8 billion for 2022, rising to €8.5 billion in 2024.

For the period from 2020 to 2024, the group anticipates a cumulative gross capital expenditure of around €12 billion.
