Fresh protest held in front of Russian embassy in Berlin

Berlin, March 8,(dpa/GNA) – Hundreds of people, have again protested against the war of aggression in Ukraine, in front of the Russian embassy in Berlin.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the rally had been registered as a solidarity rally for women and their families in Ukraine and Russia, according to the Berlin police.

With self-made banners, the participants on Tuesday pointed out the increasingly deteriorating situation for women.

Later, many demonstrators moved on to the Brandenburg Gate, where there were also rallies for Women’s Day and against the war in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the alliance that had organized one of the largest demonstrations in recent German history in Berlin on February 27, announced further protests. For this Sunday, demonstrations will be called in the capital as well as in Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Hamburg, a Greenpeace spokesperson announced on Tuesday.

At the end of February, more than 100,000 people took to the streets to protest the war in Ukraine. The alliance of trade unions, churches, initiatives, environmental organizations and peace groups had initially expected about 20,000 participants.
