Investors advised to build shopping malls in Tamale

Tamale, March 03, GNA – Hajia Lamnatu Adam, Executive Director of Songtaba Organisation, has advised investors to build shopping malls in Tamale to boost the economy in the northern sector of the country. 

     She said the establishment of Shopping Malls in Tamale would increase employment and also reduce the poverty level in the northern part of the country. 

     Hajia Adam, who gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Tamale, indicated that “Shopping Mall is mainly for people to get out of the house for a while and do something entertaining.”

     She added that “It also provides the best shopping experiences such as social gatherings, entertainment, performances, promotions of festivals and providing easy access to goods and services.”

     According to her, the establishment of the Shopping Mall in Tamale would contribute to boosting businesses, and serving as a major economic backup, more significantly than traditional markets, which were viewed as a simple convergence of supply and demand of goods and services.

     Hajia Adam said the Mall would also attract visitors into the region to spend some money on buying some of made in Northern Region products as part of promoting Ghanaian goods.

     Songtaba Organisation is a non-governmental organisation working to advance the rights of women and girls in Northern Ghana.

     It was established in 2005 as a gender-minded organisation to identify and address the root causes of women and girls’ poverty.
