Ayisha Aoyem named Black Maidens’ captain, four others given roles

Accra, Feb. 28, GNA- Head Coach of the Black Maidens, Baba Nuhu has named Georgina Ayisha Aoyem as the Captain of the team ahead of the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) Women’s U-17 World Cup qualifiers.

Ayisha Aoyem, who plays for Pearlpia Ladies FC, according to the coach is an embodiment of discipline, self-respect, confidence and humility throughout the team’s camping at the Ghanaman Soccer of Excellence in Prampram.

According to Coach Nuhu, the lanky player is an excellent communicator and has over the period built a strong relationship with her teammates.

She would be deputized by Supreme Ladies’ Nancy Amoh while Combined Forces’ Agnes Yeboah steps in as the 2nd Vice-Captain.

In a related development, Zuleiha Fuseini of Pearlpia Ladies was handed the role of General Captain and would be responsible for all activities of the playing body on and off the pitch with assistance from Stella Nyamekye of Kumasi-based Dreamz Ladies.

The Black Maidens are gearing up for their FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup qualifiers and are scheduled to take on Senegal in Dakar on Saturday, March 5, 2022.
