Hohoe (V/R), Feb. 28, GNA – Reverend Professor Paul Frimpong-Manso, General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana says Africans must reverse to their values to help develop the nations.
“Africa is a communal society; a parent brings a child, but the child belongs to a community.”
Rev Frimpong-Manso speaking to the media during the climax of the 40th Anniversary Celebration and Chapel Dedication of the Revival Assemblies of God Church in Hohoe, said the unity and oneness of communities were becoming a thing of the past.
“I don’t know whether it is Western lifestyle or whatever. So much individualistic, selfishness and people don’t care about other people even in the church.”
He noted that the absence of care for one another had bred corruption and other bad attitudes.
“To me, selfishness, greediness and individualism is not an African thinking. Africans think about community.”
Rev Frimpong-Manso noted that the church was hungry for men and women of integrity who were anointed and called to minister.
“For the church to function, you need apostles, prophets, pastors, evangelists and teachers and you can’t neglect any of them.”
He said failure for churches to accept these ministries, see their functions and receive them through training, most of them had become fake.
Apostle Dr Ernest Narh Adulai, Senior Pastor, Revival Assemblies of God Church, said the church was not just for spiritual but affect communities as well.
He said the church had provided training for the youth, provided potable drinking water, medical outreaches and scholarship packages.
Apostle Adulai said the Church had plans advanced in constructing an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Hohoe Municipal Hospital to cater for health needs for people in the northern part of the Volta and whole of Oti Regions.
The celebration was on the theme: “40 years of Revival and Transforming Lives.”
The Revival Assemblies of God Church established in 1982, has transitioned and touched many lives to its present state with many members home and abroad.
Goodwill messages were read from all well-wishers across the globe while awards were presented to deserving individuals and groups for their tremendous support for the church.
