Techiman, (BE/R) Jan. 04, GNA – The Techiman Municipality recorded 13 new COVID-19 infections with two deaths in the yuletide, Dr Kwabena Fosuhene Kusi, the Municipal Director of Health has said.
This brings the Municipal’s COVID-19 case count to 1, 916, with 43 active cases, and 43 deaths, Dr Kusi told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview in Techiman, saying, the dead included a 36 year-old man and a 21-year woman who had no co-morbidities.
He expressed worry about the alarming cases of new infections in the municipality, and advised the people to take the COVID-19 vaccine, observe the health safety protocols and protect themselves to prevent the spread of the pandemic as well.
Dr Kusi said though vaccination remained the surest way to protect oneself from contracting the disease, there was the need for the people to continue wearing nose masks, washing their hands with soap under running water, and observing social distancing in public places.
“The Municipal Health Directorate is stocked with enough Moderna, Pfizer, and AstraZeneca vaccines and we encourage everybody to take the vaccine”, he said.
