Churches welcome the New Year with forward-looking thoughts

Takoradi (W/R), Jan. 1, GNA-Christians in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis ushered in the New Year with special watch night services.

Clad in white apparel to signify their joy, the Christians sang and danced for being alive for a new year.

In a New Year message, Reverend Minister at the Effia Resurrection Baptist Church, Rev. Emmanuel Kojo Antwi, asked believers to break the limits which obstructed their lives and to walk in the newness of faith.

At the Owusu Memorial Temple of the Church of Pentecost at Effiakuma, the Takoradi Area District Pastor Rev.Stephen O.Acheampong, in a New Year message, reminded Christians that as soldiers of the cross, victory was assured and encouraged them to be steadfast in winning the battles in life.

In a New Year message, the General Overseer of the Fountain of Grace Royal Chapel, Apostle Ekow Ansah Aggrey, said difficult times were still ahead as the coronavirus pandemic was still present.

He asked believers to pray fervently, save money and work harder to make life comfortable for their families.
