Government remains resolute to bring prosperity to all—Marigold Assan

Cape Coast, Dec. 30, GNA— President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s Administration remains resolute in its mission to address the socio-economic needs of Ghanaians and bring prosperity to all, Mrs Justina Marigold Assan, the Central Regional Minister, has assured.

“Governance is about the welfare of the people,” she said, assuring that it would advance the good cause of the state to transform the lives of Ghanaians for the better.

Addressing the end-of-year meeting by the Regional Coordination Council in Cape Coast, Mrs Assan cited the implementation of government initiatives across the country as manifestation of bringing prosperity to the citizenry.

She, therefore, charged metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives (MMDCEs) to be ambassadors and support government’s flagship policy interventions.

The policy initiatives include; the Free Senior High School, One District, One Factory, National Digital Property Addressing System, and shift the focus from taxation to production.

Additionally, government prides itself on guiding Ghana to officially exit the International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme, restart the AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine, introduction of a pension scheme for cocoa farmers, restoration of the nursing trainee allowance and road infrastructure projects.

She refuted misconceptions that the One District One Factory (1D1F) flagship programme was a mere rhetoric, adding that it was a reality to industrialise the country to create more jobs.

The 1D1F is a key component of the industrial transformation agenda of the Government, which was introduced as part of an integrated programme for accelerated growth and industrial development, Mrs Assan said.

Reiterating commitment on infrastructure development, she said the Council would monitor works on social amenities in the various communities across the region to ensure they were completed on schedule.
