Covid-19 lockdown in Slovakia ends for vaccinated and recovered

Bratislava, 10 Dec, (dpa/GNA) – All shops and services such as hairdressers and fitness studios, will be allowed to open in Slovakia as of Friday for those who are recovered from or vaccinated against Covid-19.

Those who have not been vaccinated or recovered from an infection with the coronavirus will only be allowed to attend essential activities.

Restaurants however remain closed, while hotels and guest houses are allowed to accommodate business travelers but not tourists.

The health authorities stressed that the state of emergency is still in place, and some restrictions apply to the vaccinated or recovered. For example, proof of recovery or vaccination must be presented when going to the office.
From next Monday, all schools, except the first four grades, will have to switch to online classes.

Opposition and industry representatives criticized the partly contradictory regulations agreed by the four-party coalition of conservatives, populists and liberals on Tuesday.

A nationwide lockdown for everyone had been in effect since November 25, but schools were exempt.
