Do not scare candidates, Sunyani West MCE tells BECE invigilators

Odumase (B/R), Nov. 17, GNA – Examination invigilators of the on-going Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) have been urged to avoid behaviours that would scare candidates writing the examination, and thereby, affect their performance.

Mr Kusi Buadum, the Sunyani West Municipal Chief Executive gave the advice when he visited some examination Centers in the Municipality.

He said the BECE remained crucial, indicating the outcome of the examination would partly determine the future of the candidates, and asked the invigilators to be humane but fair and firm and not to intimidate the candidates.

Mr Buadum reminded the candidates of the need for them to do independent work, and avoid malpractices, saying, examination malpractices would lead to the cancellation of their results and dent their reputations as well.

He said the implementation of the Free Senior High School programme had provided opportunities for the candidates to continue their education, stressing, “what you only need is to learn hard and pass the examination”.

“You have a brighter future so make sure you do not waste your time on frivolities as you write the examination”, Mr Buadum told the candidates.

The MCE was accompanied by Mr Gordon Domayele, the Municipal Coordinating Director, and Mr Issah Baffoe, the Municipal Director of Education.
